Obituary

Vocille James Benthall passed away April 27, 2023 at the age of 92 in Edmond, Ok.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, Mom, Grandmother and Great-grandmother (GIGI).

She was born on March 7, 1931 in Cushing, OK to Fred and Dollie Holland James. Graduating from Cushing High School and then attending Draughan 's Business school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She married her soulmate and love of her life, Lester Benthall in 1950. Together they owned and

operated Benthall Electric Company for many years with Vocille keeping the books and accounting.

They welcomed two daughters, Freda Benthall Bradshaw and Cindi Benthall. Lester, Vocille and the girls spent many weekends camping, water skiing with family and friends in the summer and spending time in Colorado in the winter deer hunting and snow skiing.

Vocille was a wonderful seamstress and was always sewing clothes for her daughters and granddaughter. She always had knitting, crocheting or quilt projects. She also loved playing golf and dancing. She loved to travel with a highlight being a trip to Ireland. Vocille was a volunteer at the Cushing hospital for many years and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years making many wonderful friends. After moving to Edmond in 2014 to be near her family the joy of her day was daily visits from her great grandsons. Gigi loved them dearly.

Survivors include daughter Freda (husband Rick) Bradshaw, daughter Cindi Benthall. Granddaughter Jill

Magsamen (husband Tyler), Grandson Ryan (wife Chelsea) Bradshaw, Great Grandsons, Hudson, Ben &

Duke Magsamen, Brody and Ramsey Bradshaw. Brother In Laws, Jack Benthall and Dale Cowley. Many cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Shirley Cowley.

Funeral service are 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Matherly-Davis Funeral Chapel with Reverend George Brock III officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing. Special Thank You to Jasmine Estates of Edmond, and to the many friends and neighbors for their loving support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of your choice.
