Velma Lee Chandler was born September 27, 1937, to James and Nora Cantrell in Bristow, Oklahoma.  She departed this life February 3, 2022, at the age of 84.

She spent her youth attending Bristow public schools.  On January 4, 1955, James B. Chandler and Velma Lee Cantrell were united in marriage.  They enjoyed fifty-one years together before his passing in 2006.  From this union were born three children, Stanley, James, and Wrenetta.

She retired from McDonald Douglas as an aeronautical mechanic after 20 years of service.  She enjoyed fishing, cooking desserts, and playing bingo.  She loved her yorkie dogs, "Buddy", "Scooter", and "Liddy".  She also loved her family especially her grandchildren very much.  Velma had a love for life as well as a strong sense of faith in God.  Her joy for life and strong personality will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Stan Chandler, James "Jim" Chandler, and wife Elisa and Wrenetta Arnett; one niece, who was raised as one of her children, Jan Doolin; one brother, Carl Cantrell; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and one sister.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with Reverend Brent White officiating.  Masks are strongly suggested by the family.
