In Loving Memory of Thomas "Tom" Phillippe

November 6, 1939 – February 12, 2026

With both sorrow and deep gratitude, we celebrate the life of Thomas "Tom" Phillippe, who passed peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 86. His life was marked by steadfast love, creative passion, unwavering faith, and a spirit that embraced both adventure and service.

Tom was born on November 6, 1939, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and was raised in a Christian home where his faith first took root. In 1963, he and his beloved wife, Janna Lou Phillippe, were baptized together at the Church of God in Oilton, Oklahoma. That shared commitment to Christ became the spiritual anchor of their marriage and the guiding light of their home. Tom faithfully raised his family in the church, modeling humility, integrity, and quiet trust in God.

As a young man, Tom lived life with enthusiasm and joy. He loved roller skating, motorcycling, and music. His passion for rhythm led him to play percussion in the Oklahoma State band, reflecting both his talent and vibrant energy. Those who knew him remember his adventurous spirit and love for music and movement.

On July 16, 1965, Tom married Janna, the love of his life. In their early years of marriage, they lived in Wichita, Kansas, before making their home in Mannford, Oklahoma, then Stillwater, Oklahoma, and ultimately Hockley, Texas. In every place they lived, they created a home centered on faith, creativity, hospitality, and enduring love.

Tom's artistic gifts shaped much of his life and career. In the 1980s, he worked as a stained glass artist, creating beautiful windows for area churches—art that continues to reflect both light and worship. Later, he served as a digital graphics artist for the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, from which he retired. Ever adaptable, he embraced evolving technology with curiosity and excellence. He was also a certified mediator, a role that reflected his calm spirit, fairness, and gift for bringing understanding and peace to others.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom's greatest joy was creating portraits of those he loved. With careful attention and a tender eye, he captured not just faces, but personality and spirit—turning moments into treasured keepsakes.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, JW Riley Phillippe, and his mother, Opal Jean Shelton Phillippe.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janna Lou Phillippe; his three children, their spouses, and his cherished grandchildren: his daughter, Stephanie Childs, and her husband, Michael Childs, and their two children, Caitlin and Cameron Endly; his son, Steven James Phillippe, and his wife, Angie Phillippe, and their three sons, Jack, Henry, and Johnny Phillippe; and his youngest son, Zachary Phillippe, and his wife, Kaylyn Phillippe, and their three daughters, Hannah, Scarlett, and Ruth Phillippe.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, artist, mediator, and friend. His wisdom was steady, his laughter warm, and his presence comforting. His legacy lives on not only in the art he created, but in the faith, character, creativity, and love that continue through his family.

We celebrate a life richly lived, beautifully expressed, and deeply loved. The light Tom shared—through faith, family, music, art, and service—will continue to shine for generations to come.

Services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 21, 2026 in the Matherly - Davis Chapel. Burial will follow in the Shamrock Cemetery.
