Thomas Lee McCarty was born, September 11, 1952, to Robert and Sadie McCarty in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He departed this life October 9, 2021 at the age of 69 years.
Tom moved to Bristow with his family while in elementary school. He was a 1970 graduate of Bristow High School. Tom McCarty and Grace Robinson were united in marriage December 31, 1971 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He served his country honorably and faithfully with the United States Army, retiring in April 2002. Though his duties would sometimes take him place to place, Bristow was always home and the community he and Grace chose to raise their family. Tom worked many years as a diesel mechanic for Frontier International in Tulsa. He was known as a jack of all trades and a master of none. He also worked such places as Liberty Glass and Loomis as well as doing body work for area shops. Tom always had time to help a friend or neighbor with mechanic work. He always put family first and supported them in every endeavor he could. Time with family was always a happy and joyous occasion.
Tom is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Grace McCarty of the Bristow home; four children, Trelinda (Chrissy) Wilson and husband Terry of Miami, Oklahoma, Robert Lee McCarty and longtime girlfriend Janet of Poteau, Oklahoma, Tommy Lee McCarty Jr of Oklahoma City and Jamie Raylynn McCarty (Watts) of Bristow; four brothers, Robert Wayne McCarty and wife Kim of Meridian, Oklahoma, Kevin Patrick McCarty and wife Susan of Idaho, Keith Roley of Tulsa and Jerry Roley and wife Glenda of Tulsa, one sister Sue Harder and husband David of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Payton Neeley of Joplin, Missouri, Bobbi Juleean McCarty of Keener, Louisiana and Kayton Neeley of Miami, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmom, Mary McCarty; three brothers, Richard McCarty, Jimmy Roley and Buddy Fuller; one sister, Thelma Moreno.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with Ernest Kellum officiating.
