Obituary

Thomas L. "Buck" Winn was born April 4, 1932, to T. R. "Buck" and Lela Modiste Winn in Bristow, Oklahoma.  He departed this life November 28, 2023, at the age of 91. He graduated from Bristow High School in 1950.  He then served his country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

On February 4, 1961, Thomas "Buck" Winn and Evelyn Lucero were united in marriage.  They enjoyed thirty-eight years together before her passing September 5, 1999.  He moved back to Bristow in 2000 after living in California and Arizona.  Buck moved back into the family home and took care of his mother until her death.

As the "#1 Fan," Buck was a regular at all the Bristow Pirate sporting events. He was especially active with the Bristow Purple Pirate softball team, prompting them to establish a tournament in his name.  He had a regular seat at the basketball games and wrestling matches.  Buck received many signed softballs, basketballs, posters, banners, and pictures that he proudly displayed.    He was also a proud member of the American Veterans Legion. He was a friend to many and will certainly be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Winn (Richardson, TX) and Jimmy Winn and wife Susan (Spavinaw, OK); two sisters, Faye Brown and husband Johnny (Enid, OK),  Geraldine Murphy (Bristow, OK), Sister-In-Law, Carolin Winn (Kingman, AZ),  cousins, Carolyn Oakes (Tulsa, OK),  nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews,  cousins, and his wife's son and daughters (Anthony Ziganany, Carole Cooper, Arleen Liscomb),10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren,  and many friends, all whom he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Teddy Winn, and his wife's daughter, Esther Karchner.

The family would like to give special thanks to Josh and Carl Boyer-Winn, Constance Noblet, Kim Schrader, and a host of others for all that they did for Buck.
