Dr. Thomas Michael Bowles D.V.M., Tom, died on September 22, 2024 in Longmont, Colorado where he was living with his immediate family that was taking care of him. He laid down to take a nap that afternoon and passed in his sleep. Dr. Tom Bowles was born in Big Springs, Texas and as a very young child his family moved to Henryetta, Oklahoma. Tom was an Okie through and through and he lived in Oklahoma his entire life. He attended Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma for his undergraduate degree. He was a teacher until he attended Oklahoma State University for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, D.V.M. Being a veterinarian was his life's passion. He loved taking care of animals and developed deep relationships with clients that lasted often decades. He was a veterinarian in Oklahoma City for 50 years. His first clinic that he worked at and then owned was Lakeview Pet Hospital. He then owned Nichols Hills Pet Clinic and also Guthrie Pet Hospital for a few years at the same time he ran Nichols Hills Pet Clinic. He was married to Milly Fightmaster whom passed in 2023 and has two sons Michael and Jeff. Michael passed in 2021. Dr. Tom Bowles was a Christian, a father, a husband, a veterinarian, a hunter and a genuine cowboy. He was loved and will be missed.

Dr. Tom Bowles's funeral service will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Bristow, Oklahoma. Hutchins-Maples Matherly funeral home will hold a showing from 10:00am-1:00pm and the funeral service will be at Bristow City Cemetery at 2:00pm. He will be buried between his wife Milly and his son Michael.
