Stephen Brent Wheeler was born February 27, 1960, to Cletis and Monta Jean Wheeler in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  He departed this life December 28, 2021, at the age of 61.

He graduated from Bristow High School in 1978 and later attended Mid-American Christian University graduating with his bachelor's degree in 1996.  He had worked for the Oklahoma Health Department system for the past twenty years, most recently as an Administrative Assistant for Canadian County Health Department and was just two months from retiring.

Steve was a member of the First Church of God and was rooted in his faith in Jesus Christ.  In his spare time, he enjoyed designing and constructing model train sets  and spending time on the farm.  He loved his family very much and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by two sons, Brent Thomas Wheeler and Luke Alan Wheeler; mother, Monta Jean Wheeler; one brother, Mike Wheeler, and wife Carol; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father, Cletis Wheeler and one sister, Cleta Bishop.

There will be a visitation Monday, January 3, 2022, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at First Church of God at 3rd and Walnut in Bristow.
