Obituary

Ronald Gene Cox was born on October 23, 1952, in Yale, Oklahoma to parents Gerald & Esther (Lindberg) Cox. He departed this life July 7, 2026, at his Sapulpa home with his wife, Becky by his side.

He graduated from Yale High School in 1970, where he loved playing football. He graduated from OSU Tech School in Okmulgee where he received his diesel mechanic degree. He married the love of his life Becky Hudgins on September 1, 1973. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Robbie.

Ronald was raised on the family farm. Having chores before and after school. The farm made him the hard worker he became. He enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing on the Roaring River as well as noodling with his dad in his younger years. He also enjoyed watching lots of Oklahoma Sooner football.

He worked for over 40 years as a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar Equipment in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was always willing to help a coworker be a better mechanic. After retirement he enjoyed eating with the Albert Equipment men once a month, talking about old times.

He was ordained as a deacon at Westside Baptist Church. He personally knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He taught Bible drill to the children for many years at Westside. He was a member of the Way Church in Sapulpa, at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Becky Cox; sons, Brian Cox and wife Teresa, and Robbie Cox and wife Crystal; three grandchildren, Lily Cox, Colton Cox, Trevor Bradshaw and wife Lauren; one sister, Arnetta Hubbell and husband Phil; brother, Clifford Cox and wife Pam as well as many other family members and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous other relatives.
