Ramona Joyce Fousel was born September 18, 1927, to Richard Roland and Marion Christine Areingdale in Ottumwa, Iowa. She departed this life February 22, 2023, at the age of 95.
After graduating from Bowie High School, Ramona was united in marriage to her soul mate, Carl Edward Fousel in 1945, from this union were born two daughters, Connie and Christy. They lived in Bowie, Arizona until 1951. The family would then move to Oklahoma where Mona assisted her husband fulfill his dream of owning a farm with horses and cattle. Edward passed away at the early age of 51 and Mona was challenged to create a new life. Both daughters had moved out of the house, and she had to figure out what life would be like single.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mona had worked at many different jobs over the years including Ben Franklin Store, Kwikset, and Bristow Floral. She also volunteered in numerous groups including, BPW, the Alter society, Bristow Round up club, just to name a few. She was also a forty-five year breast cancer survivor.
She was a creative, wonderful caring, mother who enjoyed sitting down with her daughters when they were young and playing dolls and helping them put on makeup. She also enjoyed gardening and painting.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Moore of Glenpool, Oklahoma and Christy Pitts of Wagoner, Oklahoma; one sister, Jo Ellen Piazza; one brother, David Areingdale; one grandson, Corey Moore of Tulsa: two great granddaughters, Cora and Marlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Fausel; parents, Richard Roland and Maureen Christine Areingdale, two brothers, Dean and Larry Areingdale.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bristow Social Services food pantry. Services are under the direction of Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 1:30PM, Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with Deacon Tom Loney officiating. The family has requested that the dress attire is casual.
