Ralph Glenn Irvin, 93, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at home, Burlington, North Carolina. He was born February 22, 1932 in Morrow, Arkansas to the late Robert and Oda (Birdwell) Irvin. On November 13, 1951, in Bristow, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Glenna Hollon, to this union two children were born, Gary and David. Later, on November 30, 1956, in Borger, Texas he was united in marriage to Virginia Louise (Cummings) Irvin and to this union three children were born, Dewayne, Diana and Timothy.
Shortly after Ralph and Virginia were married, Ralph was drafted into the US Army and served in Germany and Korea between 1956 and 1962. Virginia and her infant son lived with her Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law while he served. After Ralph had fulfilled his duty to Uncle Sam, the family settled in Del City, OK where Ralph worked for the Department of Defense, Tinker AFB. Ralph was active in the Del City Church of Christ. In 1975 Ralph and family moved to Warner Robins GA. Ralph continued his occupation working at Robins AFB for the remainder of his career. Ralph was active in the Corder Road Church of Christ where he served as deacon in addition to many other activities. Upon retiring in 1989, Ralph and Virginia moved back to OK where they settled on 10 acres near family. Ralph spent his retirement years living the country life, growing a garden and creating the most amazing cross stitch designs. After 22 years Ralph and Virginia moved to Burlington NC to be near their daughter Diana. Preceding his death, Ralph was active in the Mebane Street Church of Christ.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Irvin, his sons Dewayne Irvin, Gary Irvin and David Irvin and is survived by his daughter Diana Hensley and her husband Robert Hensley of Burlington, North Carolina, and his son Timothy Irvin and his wife Belinda Irvin of Blanchard, Oklahoma, along with eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ralph was one of 6 children and has many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters Mary Lou Low, and Lillian Martin and brother Harley Irvin and is survived by two brothers ~ Leonard Irvin of Bristow, Oklahoma, and Dale Irvin of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
