Oscar Avell Rose, Jr., departed this world on June 25, 2026, at the age of 28. Oscar was a kind-hearted, easygoing soul whose presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. He was the kind of person who never judged others and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. To many, he was more than a friend, he was a brother, a confidant, and a source of unwavering support.

Oscar found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, enjoying sports, and, most of all, making memories with his beloved son, Marco. Being a father was one of his greatest joys, and the love he had for his son was immeasurable.

Oscar leaves behind his beloved son, Marco Rose; his father, Oscar Rose, Sr., and stepmother Stephanie Wittmer; his sisters, Autumn Jones and husband, Tray Jones, and Angye Linn and husband, Andrew Linn; April Tilley and Greg Griffin, paternal uncle, Marco Rose and wife, Dionza; and Dr. Rev. Thomas and Sylvia Clardy; paternal aunt, Marisha Rose; maternal aunt, Martha Tilley along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Allison Griffin; his brother, Julian Rose; his maternal grandparents, Trudy Frank and Ed Frank; his aunt, Tina Roebuck; his cousin, "Sonny Boy" Tilley; and his paternal uncle Allen Waldon; paternal grandparents, Beverly Rose and Arthur Rose.

Though Oscar's time with us was far too short, the love, kindness, and memories he gave to those around him will live on forever. His gentle spirit and caring heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel.
