Mildred Jean Dowdy was born November15, 1931 to Sam and Katie Kuykendall in Bristow, Oklahoma.  She departed this life on September 14, 2023, at her Bristow residence, where she resided with her daughter. She was 91 years old.

Mildred was a lifelong Bristow resident, attending Bristow Public Schools. She married HL Pinson in 1948 and to this union were born three children: Steve, Kathleen, and Gary. She married her second husband Jimmy "Pete" Dowdy in 1960. They had been married for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Dean Pinson, second husband Pete Dowdy, brother Boyd Kuykendall, brother Dale Kuykendall, sister Willa Murphy, first husband HL Pinson, and one great-great granddaughter, Aubrey Rayne.

She worked at the Garment Factory before working at Kwikset from which she retired. After retirement she took care of her mother until she passed. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who she helped raise. Then she was a babysitter for several of her great grandchildren and later her great-great grandchildren.  She enjoyed going to church and visiting with her friends. She loved working in her flower beds. She loved watching her purple martins along with feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She was also an avid reader.  She was a sweet woman lovingly known as "Granny" by everyone.

Granny is survived by two children Steve Gene Pinson and Kathleen Roberts, four grandchildren, Renda Darnell and husband Robert, Eric Roberts, Jennifer Conkling and husband Charles, Jeff Roberts and wife Kari, nine great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren with one great-great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by one brother, Sonny Kuykendall of Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Church of Christ in Bristow, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Bristow City Cemetery.  Condolences may be made to the family online at www.hutchinsmaplesfuneralhome.com
