Obituary

Phoeba Maxine Wolff was born June 4, 1945, to George and Wilma Simpson in Yale, Oklahoma. She departed this life November 25, 2021, at the age of 76. Maxine graduated from Yale High School and later attended Langston University where she would receive her bachelor's and master's degrees in early childhood education. On March 19, 1964, Bob and Maxine were united in marriage. From this union were born two children, Monique and Allan. They enjoyed over fifty-two years together before his passing November 9, 2016. She was a longtime Cushing preschool and kindergarten schoolteacher retiring in 2016. She was also a barber for several years at the Remuda Barber Shop. Maxine enjoyed sewing, traveling but most importantly she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Monique Wheatley and husband Craig of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; one son, Allan Wolff and wife Cindy of Glencoe, Oklahoma; four siblings, Marjorie Kelley, Kay Smith, Molly Dotson, and Keith Simpson; grandchildren, Jacob Wolff, John and Julienne Wheatley, Jessica and Shiloh Walden, Tristen Wolff, Skylaa Wolff, and Mason Wolff; six great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, Wynnona Rist, Ann Raper, Hobart Simpson, and Ray Simpson; one daughter in law, Bauvette Wolff. Visitation will be held in the Matherly-Davis Family Center on Monday, November 29th from 5PM to 8PM. A service will be held Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma at 10:00 AM.
