Marvin Dale Thorpe was born June 15, 1935, to John Howard and Beulah Ann Thorpe.  He departed this life January 16, 2025, at the age of 89.

He spent his youth in Missouri before he enlisted in the Unites States Army where he served from 1962 to 1969.

Marvin had worked for numerous years for the city of Cushing, retiring from the Public Works department.  Marvin had spent the last twenty-two years with Phyllis Hutchinson. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time with family and friends.  He loved telling stories to whomever gave him time to listen.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hutchinson; two children; Kathy Marie Anderson and William Harrison Thorpe and wife Annette; five stepchildren, Donnie Hutchinson and wife Susie, Dean Hutchinson and wife Nancy, Becky Hutchinson, Bob Hutchinson, and Bill Hutchinson and wife Casey as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy Thorpe, three brothers and one sister.
