Mark Arlyn Lumpkin, lifelong Payne County resident, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his residence at the age of 53 years. The son of Norma Jean Barrett Lumpkin and the late Billy Lumpkin, Mark was born on December 14, 1964 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in Perkins-Tryon and Ripley schools, graduating from Ripley High School with the Class of 1983. Mark grew up loving to rodeo and was considered to be very good at riding bulls, bare back riding, and training horses. He spent many hours in the outdoors, either hunting, fishing, tinkering with and fixing things, or just playing with his family and grandkids, whom he loved dearly. He worked for the City of Cushing for over 15 years in the water department and had also worked as a plumber for many years. Mark's children include, Cody Matthew Lumpkin (deceased resting in Tryon), Casey Arlyn Lumpkin and his wife Katie of Agra, Matt Jamaes Schlehuber of Stillwater, Courtney Renee Wilson and her husband Samuel of Stillwater, Thomas Andrew Lumpkin and his wife Rae Dawn of Perkins and Colten Dale Lumpkin of Pawnee; his mother Norma Jean Lumpkin of Hobart, OK; one brother Rick Lumpkin and his wife Susan of Ripley; his grandchildren, Josie Marie Lumpkin, Hartley Mae Wilson, Eli Thomas Mathew Lumpkin, Jenni Elaine Lumpkin, Rowan Cruz Wilson, Oakley Jo Lumpkin, and a new grand-baby due in 2019; several nieces, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son Cody Matthew Lumpkin. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M on Friday, December 14, 2018, the day he would have turned 54, at the Tryon Cemetery with Pastor Larry Eslinger officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Thomas Lumpkin, Colten Lumpkin, Samuel Wilson, Matt Schlehuber, Greg Rodgers and John Leverich. The family will greet friends on Thursday evening, December 13, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home. To assist the Lumpkin family with funeral services, the family has requested that donations be made to the Davis Funeral Home to defray expenses.
