Obituary

Lyle Dean Knott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on May 16, 1954, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Bertha May Knott, Lyle grew up with the warmth of family and the open spirit of rural Oklahoma life.

A proud graduate of Locust Grove High School, Class of 1972, Lyle carried the values of hard work, adventure, and loyalty throughout his days. In his younger years, he was quite the adrenaline enthusiast—tearing up tracks on motocross bikes, riding bulls with fearless grit, slicing through the water on skis, and making the most of every weekend at the lake, soaking up the sun and good times with those he loved.  As the years went on, his passions evolved but never dimmed. Motorcycles remained a constant joy, offering him freedom and the open road, while golf provided quieter moments of focus and camaraderie. Through it all, Lyle lived with enthusiasm, a quick smile, and a heart ready to embrace whatever came next.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Knott and Bertha May Knott.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 and a half years, Sheila, who was his steadfast partner and his greatest love; his sons Kyle, Lance, and Kolton (and Kolton's wife Lauren); his daughters Lauren Olson and Courtney Bellville (and her husband Bobby); and his cherished grandchildren Jeremy Knott (and his wife Sierra), Kenzie Naro, Emma Olson, Karson Knott, Alexis Bellville, Lincoln Bellville, Ivan Oxford, Sullivan Oxford and great grandchildren Marshall and Ansleigh Knott. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he took immense pride in watching them grow, sharing stories, laughter, and countless memories.

Lyle's life was one filled with adventure, family devotion, and simple joys. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit—bold, loving, and full of life—will live on in the stories told, the rides taken, and the love he gave so freely.

A celebration of life will be held at the Free Will Baptist Church, 2:00pm on February 7th, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help cover expenses and debts incurred during Lyle's illness. Your support during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated and will help ease the financial burden faced by the family. Donations can be made directly to Community Bank (918)367-3343, "In Memory of Lyle Knott". Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and honor Lyle.

Rest easy, Lyle. You lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on every heart you touched.
