Obituary

Leonard Newton Wells was born February 13, 1942, to Eli and Dorothy (Thele) Wells in Perry, Oklahoma. He departed this life  November 6, 2023, at the age of 81.

He was a 1960 graduate of Ripley High School and went on to attend Oklahoma State University for two years. He worked in the oilfield for Hudson and Arco refineries where he would eventually retire as a pipeline inspector.

On March 4, 1983, Leonard Wells and Elaine Vassar were united in marriage. He was an active member of the Cushing First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Leonard enjoyed roping, hunting, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Elaine Wells of the home; four daughters, Renea Farnbauch and husband Mark of Columbia City, Indiana, Tami Ames, and Kristi Wells of Phoenix, Arizona, Kristi Wells of Perkins, Oklahoma; two sons, Jeff Johnson and wife Whitney of Cushing, Jason Wells and wife Abby of Mustang, Oklahoma; one sister, Elaine Kalka; one brother, Allen Wells and wife Ruth; thirteen grandchildren, Audrey Johnson, Guy Parker, Brian Johnson, Matt Farnbauch, April Finley, Richie Ames, Eli Vickers, Lacey Vickers, Lily Strutton, Presleigh Sanders, Roman Wells, Sullivan Wells and Tyke Bowen; five great grandchildren, Lilly Farnbauch, Ella Farnbauch, Justin Strutton, James Findley, and Grant Findley. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00, Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Cushing First Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
