Louie Leon Launius was born August 5, 1946 to Louie and Dovie Launius in Bristow, Oklahoma.  He departed this life December 9, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

Leon was a 1965 graduate of Bristow high school.  Leon Launius and Joyce Ashworth were united in marriage August 15, 1966; to this union was born a daughter, Denine.  Leon answered his call to serve October 6, 1967 with the United States Army.  He completed his duties honorably September 26, 1970.  Returning to Bristow where he and his family successfully owned and operated a furniture restoration business for many years.  Leon was a member and served his Lord and Savior attending the House of Prayer in Bristow.  Fishing was a past time he enjoyed as well as hunting when he was younger.

Leon is survived by His wife of 56 years, Joyce Launius; brother-in-law Billy Ashworth and wife Adrienne of Broken Arrow; one brother, Wesley Launius of Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Denine Key; two sisters, Drucella Holderfield and Donivee Chaney.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, December 17, 2019 at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
