Larry Wayne Dillard was born June 14, 1948, to Emmitt "Red" Dillard and Lola Lorene Dillard in Bristow, Oklahoma. Larry passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 76.
Larry attended Bristow schools and dedicated many years to the construction industry, eventually establishing his own Rock masonry business. He was well regarded as a diligent worker who generously helped others when possible.
Larry became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in 2000, during which time he contributed to the expansion of the church. He devoted himself to singing in both the Brotherhood and Sanctuary Choir until his health began to decline. Many knew him affectionately as "Uncle Larry" regardless of family ties.
Larry is survived by his children, Larry Dillard of Texas, and one step-son, Jonathan (and their mother, Pat of Dallas, Texas), as well one daughter, Latrice Overstreet of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Christine Northington of Oakland, California; two brothers, Ricky Dillard and wife Saundra Kay of Stroud, Oklahoma and Sam Tucker and wife, Sheritha of Bristow, Oklahoma; brother in law and sister in law, Anthony and Edna Jamison. Additionally, he leaves behind seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as, five sisters, Almetrice Dillard of Bristow, Bobby Maxey of Tulsa, Louise Alford and Deborah Elaine Jamison of Bristow, and Doris Jones of Tulsa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM, May 31, 2025, at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 416 N. Hickory St., Bristow, Oklahoma. With sincere gratitude from the family, Thank you for your kind expressions of sympathy. The love you have shown has given us great comfort. It is greatly appreciated and will be forever remembered.
