Beckham
Jan 6, 1952 — Jun 27, 2026
Bristow
LARRY DEAN BECKHAM, 74, of Bristow, OK, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at his home.
Born January 6, 1952, in El Dorado, Kansas, he was the son of Arvel Beckham, Jr. and Patricia Haaga. His family lived in Latham and moved to Burden while Larry was in grade school. He was raised in Burden, graduating from Burden High School in 1970. Larry enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1971 and served as Engine Mechanic on the USS Enterprise and the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam Conflict. Larry received the Good Conduct Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Kansas Medallion for Vietnam Service. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in November of 1974.
Larry was a jack of all trades and made a lifestyle of being self-employed to be able to take care of his family. He has owned and operated his own trucking company, sold Masterguard Fire Alarms, owned and operated several Sonics over the course of his life. In his younger days, he was a firefighter for the federal government and owned and operated his own restaurant named after the Coral Sea. There really was not job he would not try and was always successful in whatever adventure he attempted, although his greatest pride and joy came from his role as the lead man in a house full of girls. When he was not working, you could always find him cracking jokes, playing with his family and making everyone laugh.
His family includes:
His loving wife of 29 years: Lorrie Beckham, of Bristow, OK;
His daughters, Tonya Fletcher and husband, Barry of Midlothian, TX; Christie England, Courtnee Beckham, Kayla Beckham and Kelsey Beckham, all of Bristow, OK;

His brothers: Larry Murray and Milton Murray both of Marionville, MO;
His sisters: Lovetta Miles, Brenda Ramsey and Tonya Adams all of Overland Park, KS;
His 16 nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his birth mother, Patricia Haaga, his parents, Arvel Beckham, Jr., and Marjorie Beckham, brother, Joseph Beckham and his niece, Shawna Murray.
Military Committal Honors will be at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1001 N. College Street, Winfield, Kansas to be announced at a later date.
