Obituary

Lanny Floyd Sparkman was born December 19, 1941, to Cecil Sparkman and Dorothy (Pack) Sparkman in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life on January 11, 2026, at the age of 84 years.

Lanny was raised in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School with the Class of 1960. He served in the United States Army and attended college at OSU Okmulgee. He was united in marriage to Sharon Bell on March 16, 1964, and to this union two daughters, Debbie and Tina, were born.

Lanny was a member of the Iron Workers Local # 584. He enjoyed collecting hammers, woodworking, hunting, fishing, boxing, Oklahoma Sooners Football and the Dallas Cowboys.

Lanny is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Sharon, of the home; children, Debbie McEntire and husband, Raymond, of Cushing, Tina Lohrman and husband, Greg, of Federal Way, Washington and John Buxton and wife, Cheryl, of Drumright; brother, Bob Sparkman and wife, Rita; sister, Shirley Rogers; grandchildren, Christopher Lee and wife, Amanda, Cameron Lee, Spencer Lee, Chance Tonnesen Lee, Taylor Kerr and husband, Clayton, Jordan Finch and husband, Collin, Chris Richardson and wife, Alicia, and Jenny Christy and husband, Daryn; great-grandchildren, Brendan Womack, Sarah Marquez, James Lee, Gabby Lee, Luca Finch, Baby Finch, Avery Richardson, Irelyn Richardson, Paizley Christy, Brinlee Christy and Hayes Christy and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Lanny was preceded in death by brothers, Don Sparkman, Jerry Sparkman, Larry Sparkman and David Sparkman and grandson, Bret Buxton.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the Free Will Baptist Church.
