Kathy Gaylene Reed was born June 13, 1953, to Roy and Doris Shoemaker in Drumright, Oklahoma. She departed this life on July 20, 2022, at her home in Cushing Ok. She graduated from Drumright High School in 1971. She was a blessed woman who found not one but two true loves in her lifetime. Kathy married Michael Ray Blake in 1972, they enjoyed 37 years together before his passing, November 21, 2009. She later met Wayne Reed in 2015 and the two married on August 19, 2017 and created a wonderful life they never thought would happen again. She had retired from Keystone Food Service where she served in the kitchen for the Cushing Public Schools. Kathy loved camping, fishing, a good game of wahoo and any activity that included her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting with her friend Sue Williams Barns. Kathy was very active member of the Cushing Free Will Baptist church and loved attending gospel concerts especially those Sound Street concerts. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Reed of the Cushing home; two daughters, Alisa Turner and husband Brad of Cushing, Amber Vanderslice and husband, Jarrod of Waynesboro, Mississippi; brother Keith Shoemaker and wife Diana of Sapulpa; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Blake & Ashley Turner, Jaylie, Jace, & Johanna Vanderslice. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Michael Blake and one brother, Michael Shoemaker. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Cushing Free Will Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery North of Cushing.
