Obituary

Joseph Anthony Lacovara was born November 19, 1946, to Rudolph Lacovara and Dorothy (Fontana) Lacovara, in Brooklyn, New York. He departed this life on January 14th, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

Joseph attended Our Lady of Angels elementary school and graduated from St. Francis Prep high school. He attended 1 year at St. Francis College, then attended and graduated from McPherson College, in McPherson, Kansas, in 1969.

He was united in marriage to Regina Ann Fillmore on August 30th, 1969. They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for 12 years, then moved to Colorado, settling finally in Arvada, Colorado. Joseph worked as a respiratory therapist for 20 years, ending his career as the Directory of Respiratory Therapy at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center. Joseph was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees baseball and the University of Oklahoma football teams. Joseph loved his Lord Jesus and served in the churches faithfully.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his son, Rudolph Anthony Lacovara and wife Tabitha, of Arvada, CO; daughter, Kelly Ann Martines and husband Rich, of Oak Ridge, TN; two granddaughters, Mikayla A. Troke and Taylor G. Lacovara; one grandson, Michael J. Lacovara; sister, Linda Gasparino and husband Louis, and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00am, Friday, January 26, 2024 at Big Creek Church of the Brethren with burial in the Church Yard Cemetery.
