Obituary

Johnson Proctor was born June 29, 1947 to Nancy Hill in Hanna, Oklahoma.  He departed this life August 14, 2021 at the age of 74 years 1 month and 16 days.

Johnson grew up and attended school in Hanna.  He spent sixteen years in Oklahoma City where he worked at a fine candy company.  After work, he would bring home candy canes to his children.  Before he retired, he worked at KWIKSET until their closing.  He resided in Depew where he made his forever home with his wife, Betty Proctor.  They enjoyed 46 wonderful years together.  He was a proud member of the Nuyaka Ceremonial Grounds and spoke his Muscogee language fluently.  He loved to teach his grandchildren Muscogee words and traditions.  He loved to watch OU football, but he would turn the TV off when he thought they were losing.  He also loved to sit outside and drink coffee with his wife in the mornings.

Johnson is survived by his wife, Betty Proctor.   He had four children, Shari Phillips, Eric Proctor, Darrol Proctor and Kristy Proctor (Benwagee); thirteen grandchildren, Traie, Tevin and Mikala Phillips, Lesley, Shayln, Gara, Jordyn, Darian and Frey Proctor, A. J. and Naomi Wesley; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Lilli Phillips; he has two living siblings, Leola Hill and Felix Hill; one sister-in-law, Patricia Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mom and siblings Arney Proctor and Grover Hill.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 41770 West 291 th Street South Depew, Oklahoma.   Pastor Fred Lowe will officiate assisted by Galen Cloud of the Nuyaka Ceremonial Grounds.
