Johnny Leroy Pilant was born October 5, 1949 to Roscoe and Maxine Pilant on the Newell farm near Bristow, Oklahoma.  He departed this life February 27, 2025 at the age of 75 years.

Upon graduating high school johnny enlisted with the United States Navy.  His time with the Navy took him many places.  He was proud to have been a Navy Corpsman serving along side the United States Marines.  Johnny served honorably and faithfully two tours in Vietnam giving him eighteen months in country.  Johnny worked in many facets throughout his life but had retired both from the sheriff's department as well as the U.S. Postal Service.  He and his wife Marilyn resided in Tulsa where Johnny was a member of American Legion Post 1.  They attended Brookhaven Christian Church and would fish and hunt with every opportunity.

Johnny is survived by His wife, of 25 years, Marilyn; two children, Pasha Lynn Pilant and Chey Owen Pilant; one brother, Dwight Pilant and wife Marie of Bristow, two sisters, Cheryl Rogers and husband Ray of Bristow and Willa Jean Steelman and husband Tony of Tulsa, six grandchildren, Breanna Ritter and husband Kyle, Faith Phillips and husband Mason, Makayla Mertz and husband Cordell, Tristen Pilant, Jaden Pilant, Alexandria Pilant, Donald Steelman and three great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Steelman and one brother, Roscoe Pilant Jr.  Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00pm, Friday, March 7, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church in Slick, Oklahoma.
