Joe Gaskins was born July 27, 1961, to Kell William Gaskins and Mae Elizabeth (Pilgram) Gaskins in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life on October 21, 2025, at the age of 64 years.

Joe was raised in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School with the class of 1979. He was united in marriage to Michelle Houston on April 15, 1989 and to this union one daughter, Kelsey, was born. Michelle preceded him in death on April 23, 2016.

Joe loved fishing! He also enjoyed hunting and helping others; it didn't matter who it was or what they needed, he would help anyone. Joe worked for Oklahoma State University for many years as the utility distribution supervisor for energy services.

Survivors include his daughter, Kelsey Scrivner and husband, Jacob; girlfriend, Lisa Cooper and her children, Amanda Linduff and Macey Hesser; brother, Willie Gaskins and wife, Joanie, their son and daughter in law, Jake and Holli and their kids; parents in law, Paul and Karen Houston; sister in law, Kelly Dilley and husband, Steve; brother in law, Paul Houston; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Joe was preceded in death by brother, Mick Gaskins, sister Debbie Murlin and brother in law, Randy Houston.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the First United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6 – 8 at the funeral home.
