Jimmie "Jim" Lee Goad, Cushing resident, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 in the Cushing Hillcrest Hospital at the age of 82 years. The son of the late James Dallas Goad and Irena M. Fields Goad, Jim was born on October 17, 1936 in Ralston, Oklahoma and was raised in the Fairfax area. Jim was united in marriage to Patsy Brooks on June 20, 1958 in Fairfax. To this union two children, Rhonda and James "Pete", were born. The couple lived in Fairfax and Pryor, before moving to Cushing in 1967. Jim enjoyed gardening, yard work, working on the farm, and being around animals, especially his dachshund dogs. Jim was a hard worker; he worked for GRDA for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Pat, of the home; daughter, Rhonda Kannady of Broken Arrow; daughter-in-law, Shelly Goad of Stroud; grandchildren, Derek Smith of Tulsa, Jana Smith of Broken Arrow, Dustin Goad and wife, Paige of Stillwater and Mikayla Frech and husband, Matt of Edmond; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Bookout and husband, Wendell of Drumright, Joyce Jones and husband, Tom of Bartlesville, and Jan Payne of Skiatook; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son, James "Pete" Goad; and siblings, Lennie Homan and husband, Neal, Eunice Dillard and husband, Austin, Dolly Weaver and husband, Aaron, and Gene Goad and wife, Beulah. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church with Ralph Hickman officiating. A private burial will be held at a later time in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
