Jimmey Wayne Grant was born November 1, 1941, to Forrest Grant and Pauline Grant in Milfay, Oklahoma. He departed this life September 23, 2026, surrounded by his family at the age of 84.

He graduated from Milfay High School in 1961 and was a member of the Milfay First Baptist Church. After graduating, Jimmey began his career working as a rough neck in the oilfield, a ranch hand on the Hood Ranch, spent a few years at Allied Materials, and eventually went to work for the gas plant in Milfay, from which he retired in 2003. After retirement, Jimmey enjoyed farming and spending time with his friends and family, and rodeoing from his recliner.

Jimmey loved to ride, rope and spend time with his family. He would rope anything that moved, and more often than not, he was roping Carolyn. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Jimmey and his great niece and nephews Ember, Archer, Carter, and Bryce. Jimmey treated everyone like family and was known to many in the community as “Uncle Jim”.

Jimmey is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home. His daughter Joy Grant Polkey, son-in-law Bob Polkey, grandson Jimmey Don Fowler. One brother, Johhny Ray Grant and wife, Lynetta, sister Peggy Pool and sister, Patsy Grant. Special nephews, and their wives, Bump & Penny Grant, and Billy Ray and Leslie Grant.

He is preceded in death by parents, Forrest & Pauline Grant, an infant brother, Lawrence, his son, Jimmey Ray Grant, and daughter-in-law, Angie. Brothers-in-law, Paul Pool and Melvin Moore.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Amy Cropp, Adrian Clark, and Kathy Hale, along with Linda Mathurin and Gayle Growne and their team from Seasons Hospice, for their love, care, compassion and grace.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Milfay Baptist Church. Interment to follow at the Welty Cemetery.
