Obituary

JC Hickman was born on September 10, 1946, to Leo Clarence and Dorothy (Stowers) Hickman in Yale, Oklahoma. On June 21, 2026, coinciding with being his and Kathy's 58th anniversary along with Father's Day, JC departed this earth surrounded by his family.

JC graduated from Cushing High School with the class of 1966. He served in the United States National Guard and spent his career as a welder and inspector on the Pipeline.

JC was united in marriage to Kathy Powers on June 21, 1968. To this union two daughters, Jeana and Micah, were born. JC loved Kathy and spent their 58 years of marriage showing her how much.

He attended the Life Church in Edmond. He enjoyed archery, fishing, hunting, traveling to Wyoming with Kathy, and spending time with his family and his dog, Annie. JC loved his daughters and grandchildren; he enjoyed taking his grandkids on "papa/grandkid dates".

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Kathy, of the home; two daughters, Jeana Griffin and husband, Larry, and Micah Canaday and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Brady Griffin, Brookelin Griffin, Jayce Canaday, Holden Canaday and River-Kate Lyric Canaday; brother, Ronnie Hickman and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Sharon Ferrell and husband, Fred; brother-in-law, Skip Powers (deceased) and wife, Ana; nephews and nieces, Dustin, Angie, Dustin, Josh, Jessica and Aubrey; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, JC was preceded in death by one brother and one brother-in-law, Skip Powers.

Memorial services will be held at a later time.
