Obituary

Janet Louise Henderson was born December 7, 1953, to Wayne and Flora Milligan in Bristow, Oklahoma.  She departed this life March 18, 2024, at the age of 70 years surrounded by family.  She had been a Bristow and Slick area resident most all her life.

Janet attended Slick Public Schools then transferred to Kellyville High School where she graduated in 1972.  Janet Milligan married Dennis Jones, her high school sweetheart in 1972.  Dennis and Janet had three children, a son Dustin and twin daughters, Denise and Jeanice.  Slick was always home, growing up there and spending most of her life busy helping people and her community; always trying to give back.  She enjoyed her time serving as mayor for the Slick community and owning the Slick Stop.  Janet worked for 40 plus years in the aerospace industry in Kellyville at Patty Precision Products and Redwing before retiring.  Her biggest joy was getting to spend time with her grandchildren after leaving the aerospace industry.  Janet gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and served him faithfully.  She always tried to be a prayer warrior for people and most recently she enjoyed hearing her nephew preach at First Baptist Church in Bristow.  Janet grew up playing basketball and was an avid gardener but was best known for her sense of humor that was sure to fill any room with laughter.  She loved her family deeply, spending every possible moment surrounded by those she loved and those that loved her.  Janet was a caregiver at heart and cherished the time she was able to spend with her mom prior to her passing.

Janet is survived by her son, Dustin Jones and wife Ashley of Bixby; two sisters, Karen Carney and Husband Derrick of Luther and Susan Carney and husband Dewey of Harrah; Grandchildren Andrew Lynn, Abi Jones and Derek Jones, and had many nieces and nephews.  Janet was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Milligan; mother and father, Flora and Eddie Sneed; husband, Dennis Jones; twin daughters, Denise and Jeanice and sister, Mary Alice Mudgett.
