James Rodney
Peterson
Mar 11, 1953 — Jul 8, 2026
Bristow
James Rodney Peterson was born March 11, 1953, to Lowell and Alice Peterson in Phoenix, Arizona. He departed this life July 8, 2026, at the age of 73 years.
Rod had been an eight-year Bristow area resident. His prior life was in Arizona where he worked twenty plus years for the City of Surprise as a building inspector. Rod gave one hundred percent to all he did remaining ever present for his children; James, Justin, and Erica. His responsibilities were great and his reliability carried him through many situations and times in his life. Summer trips to Oceanside, California and the PYPA camp in Prescott, Arizona were always a welcomed getaway from life that brought many great family memories. Rod loved woodworking and carpentry. He also lent his talents to playing guitar and song writing, two he was most proud of were "Silver Ships" and his treatment "The End of the Beginning. Rod was a great writer; he could often be found in deep thought. He gave the greatest advice on finances, life and love such as "You can't have champagne taste on a beer budget", "Marriage is a journey, not a destination", "You can't rationalize an irrational act"; Rod was always quick to answer with "Everything is bizarre and weird".
Rod is survived by his two sons, James David Peterson and Justin Keith White; one daughter Erica Nichole Webb; two sisters, Mary Stilwell and Brenda Watkins; grandchildren, Carena Peterson, Jordan White, Jace White, Anne Margret Peterson, Autumn Bertelli, Audrie Rogers, Makenna Bertelli, Jackson White, Presley White, Emma Webb, and Devin White; two close neighbors Danny and Tommi. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Warren Peterson, mother, Alice Juanita Brown, and two brothers, Russell Peterson and Carl Sands.
