James Franklin McCarty was born April 20, 1963, to Ronald Earl and Ramona McCarty in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  He departed this life June 26, 2025, at the age of 62.

His childhood was spent in Bristow and later in life he moved to Missouri.  He was married to Phyllis McCarty and they enjoyed many years together before her passing.

He had worked as a commercial truck driver before his health forced him to retire.  James enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time in nature.

He is survived by his mother, Ramona Jackson and stepfather Vernon Jackson; sister, Karen McKay and husband Timothy; half-sister, Cynthia Gagne and husband Rob; stepsister, Amy Jackson and husband John Svetlik as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Earl McCarty, wife, Phyllis McCarty, paternal grandparents, Franklin and Laura McCarty, and maternal grandparents, James and Frances Chasteen.

Services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
