James "Jim" Manuel was born July 26, 1930, to Arthur Lee and Lillie Mae (Cannon) Manuel in Cushing, Oklahoma. He departed this life on January 7, 2025, at the age of 94 years.

James was raised and educated in Cushing. He was united in marriage to Helen Sullivan on September 19, 1953, in Bristow. To this union two sons, David and John Stephen, were born.

James worked for the City of Cushing Water Department for many years, reading meters and doing general maintenance.

He was a member of the First Church of God. He enjoyed watching sports and doing yard work, he always wanted his yard to be just right.

Survivors include his wife of over 71 years, Helen; son, David Manuel and wife, Pam, of Cushing; two grandchildren, Cody & Sarah Manuel and Casey Manuel & Maddie Gregory; four great-grandchildren, Kinley Manuel, Mila Manuel, Sawyer Manuel and Lainey Manuel; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, John Stephen Manuel; his siblings, Virginia Fade, Eugene Manuel, O'Neal Manuel, Junior Lee Manuel and infant sister, Leoma Manuel.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, in the Fairlawn Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, Friday, January 10, 9:00am to 2:00pm, Saturday, January 11 and 9:00am to 11:00am, Monday, January 13 in the funeral home chapel.
