Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jagger Dwight Welch, a vibrant and beloved son, brother, and friend, who left us on May 9, 2025, at the young age of thirteen. Born on October 1, 2011, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, he spent his life in Drumright, Oklahoma, leaving an indelible mark on our family and community.

Jagger had an insatiable zest for adventure and a deep love for the outdoors. He could often be found fishing, tinkering with his dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and sometimes sneaking drives in the old truck – a testament to his adventurous spirit. Jagger was a natural wheeler-dealer, always making trades and connections. He thrived in the company of his close friends and had a remarkable ability to connect with anyone he met; he truly never knew a stranger. If you had the good fortune of truly knowing Jagger, you couldn't help but love him.

The last couple of years were particularly challenging for Jagger following the passing of his Papa, Forrest Welch. From the age of two, Jagger and his Papa shared an inseparable bond, two peas in a pod with many similar traits. His Papa's passing deeply impacted Jagger. More recently, the sudden death of one of his best friends further dimmed his bright spirit. His family finds comfort in the thought that Jagger is now reunited with his beloved Papa, together again watching over those they loved.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Jagger lived his life with such an incredible impact on so many people. He was deeply loved by many and his parents were immensely proud to call him their son. His last year brought a new adventure as he embarked on his 4-H journey by showing cattle and pigs. As with his athletic endeavors, he excelled showcasing his dedication and determination.

Jagger's memory will forever be cherished through his hilarious jokes, his contagious smile that could light up any room, his signature fist bumps, and the unique nicknames he had for everyone he knew. Known for his infectious humor and ever-present smile, Jagger was always ready for a good time.

Jagger is survived by his loving parents, Josh and Jacey Welch; his brothers, Howdy Welch and Jay Welch; and his adoring grandparents, Gary and Connie Wise and Debi Welch; as well as extended family and a multitude of close friends.

A private service to celebrate Jagger's life will be held at his home by one of his fishing holes.
