Gramm
Jul 3, 1934 — Dec 1, 2025
Bristow
Charles Hershel Gramm, age 91, of Bristow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1934, in Bristow to Charlie Elijah Gramm and Mertie Ellen Rogers.
Hershel married the love of his life, Evelyn Gee, on March 31, 1952. Together they built a beautiful life of over 73 years of marriage and raised two children, Charles Leon Gramm and Connie Jean O'Brien.
Hershel grew up in the Bristow area and attended Bristow Public Schools. From a young age, he developed a strong work ethic that would define his entire life. His first job was with Krumme Oil Company, a place he returned to in his later years, making it both his first and last employer. Over the years he also worked for Frankoma Pottery, Wickham Packing, and National Tank.
Resourceful and hardworking, Hershel eventually owned his own dozer and backhoe business and became a skilled, self-taught welder. He later retired as a heavy equipment operator and oil pumper, known by many for his dependability and determination.
Hershel loved the outdoors and had a lifelong passion for the rodeo life, especially roping. He also enjoyed bird hunting and spending time with family. He was a longtime attendee of Bristow Christian Center, where he dedicated his life to Jesus many years ago.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Gramm of the home; his son Leon Gramm and daughter Connie O'Brien and husband Tom; his grandchildren Gary Gramm and wife Holly, Ginger Spencer, Tye Gramm, Brandon Dose and wife Becky; seven great grandchildren including Brock Darnell, Robert Darnell, Brittney Darnell, Graycie Miller and husband Luke, McKenzie Dose, Bo Gramm, and Piper Gramm; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Elijah Gramm, and his sisters Velma J. Langley, Inez Langley, and Maudie Butts.
Hershel will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a steady provider, and a man whose life reflected dedication and love for his family and Savior.
Services will be 2:00PM, Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Bristow Christian Center with burial to follow at Old 44 Cemetery.
