Henry Alvie Morris was born March 17, 1929, to Henry and Mamie (Moseley) Morris in Silverton, Texas. He departed this life December 17, 2023, at the age of 94.
He graduated from Silverton High School. After graduating he served his country in the United States Army as a tank gunner. He worked for the Cushing Fire Department from 1955 to 1965 then became the Fire Chief at Ripley. He also spent over twenty years with the U.S. Postal service and fourteen years as a Payne County deputy.
On February 14, 1983, Henry Morris and Marilyn Beene were united in marriage. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed passing on his passion for hunting to his grand and great grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of over forty years, Marilyn Morris; one son, Buck Morris; one daughter, Lea Ann Eubank and husband Mike; one step son, David Beene and wife Sherri; one step daughter, Lea Ann Kuykendall and husband David; nine grandchildren, Bryan Eubank, Julia Barnett, Louis Morris, Jason Beene, Angela Hobson, Hannah Hurdle, Dusty Ladd, DeShea' Mitchell, and Dallas Ladd; sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Michael Eubank and eleven siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Mehan Union Church with interment to follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
