Helen Scott, a former longtime Yale, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 91 years. The daughter of the late Leslie Brown and Ann Foulks Brown, Helen was born on March 8, 1928 in Skiatook, OK and was raised and educated in the Yale community. She was united in marriage to James Edwin Scott on July 8, 1946 in Oilton and to this union two sons, Vernon and James were born. Helen was all about nature, teaching her family what the real outdoors was all about. She loved to spend time outdoors and was a collector of many items, including rocks, fossils, arrowheads, stamps and coins. She also enjoyed fishing, staying busy stringing beads, reading her Bible and spending time with her family and friends. For many years Helen was a house parent-caregiver, in Tulsa at a boy's home. She is survived by her two sons, Vernon Scott and his wife Ann of Yale and James Scott of Shamrock; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marie Garvin, Rosa Andrews, Doug Brown and Robert Brown; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Brother Michael Dershem officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery.
