Harriet Ann
Davis
Dec 3, 1936 — Sep 10, 2021
Tulsa
Harriet Ann Davis was born December 3, 1936, to Mary Lucille and Harry Gene Qualls in Claremore, Oklahoma. She departed this life September 10, 2021, at the age of 84 years.
Harriet, a 1954 graduate of Bristow High School, was elected freshman Homecoming Queen at Oklahoma City University. She went on to attend Draughons Business College in Tulsa. She soon met the love of her life, Jim. The two were married on January 18, 1957, in Bristow. Throughout their life together Harriet and Jim were blessed with four children. She worked diligently keeping the home in order and caring for the children. Jim's work would move the family here and there, but Bristow was always home. Life with children will certainly keep a mom busy but Harriet always found time for work as the children grew older. She took a position as Executive Assistant at Royal Oil and Gas. She worked as the assistant librarian at Bristow High School, church secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Bristow, and she made beautiful arrangements at the Added Touch flower shop, as well as flower shops in Cordell and Tishomingo. As the family returned to Bristow, Harriet served the community as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of PEO and a member of the cemetery board. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Harriet loved to read, fish, and sing in the church choir. She took every opportunity to travel; these travels took her to such places as Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, and Ireland. She was a true artist who could fill a canvas with love from the heart and beauty from the soul.
Harriet is survived by Jim, her husband of 64 years, and three children: Terry Davis and wife Janet of Florissant, Colorado, Tracy Davis and wife Michele of Niceville, Florida, Trudy Brock and husband John of Jenks, Oklahoma; two sisters: Carol Lee Wilmoth and Mary Lynne Williams and husband Richard; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Ryan Stout, Abby Diane Davis, Austin Kyle Davis, Morgan Mariah Davis, Seth Davis Brock, Benjamin Evan Brock, and Sarah Beth Brock as well as eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tammy Diane Davis and one brother-in-law Del Wilmoth.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Bristow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Oklahoma Foundation for the "Tammy D. Davis Scholarship Fund"; PO Box 258856, Oklahoma City, OK 73125-8556.
