He spent numerous years teaching, then worked for the Creek County Sheriff's Department transporting prisoners.  For over twenty years, Gene was an employee at Spirit Bank as a transporter; retiring in 2021. Gene loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Bristow First Baptist Church.

In his spare time, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the farm.  Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  His favorite quote was "plan your work, work your plan".
