Foad Vincent Slyman was born August 26, 1938, to David J. and Nellie Ann Joseph Slyman in Bristow, Oklahoma.  He departed this life January 10, 2024, at the age of 85.

Foad was baptized on September 25, 1938, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He attended St. Joseph Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade, under the teachings of the Carmelite sisters and Irish priests.  He entered the seminary directly from the eighth grade achieving 18 years of civilian education in religion and theology.  Returning home, he enlisted in United States Army until receiving his honorable discharge from the Army and reserves in 1968.

He was employed by the Oklahoma Employment Security System for many years.  He was fondly remembered by co-workers even after he took early retirement to return to the family home to care for his mom, sister Mary, and family business, Freddies BBQ and Steakhouse.

In 1975 during his tenure at Freddies, he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from his very own "Slyman School of Busboy Technology" which he proudly displayed.

Foad was very proud of his Lebanese Heritage and proudly took on the humor, actions and personality of his great uncle Deeb Slyman and adorned his walls and memories in the family home and his final residence at the Legends in Tulsa.

He was an active member in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving and representing his family in the Knights of Columbus, Altar boy, preparing the church and altar for services, ushering, money counting, and keeping the church books and records.

He is survived by his sister, Rosanne F. Slyman Miller; sister-in-laws, Sherian Slyman, Jean Slyman, and Maxine Slyman, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from around the world.  He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Nellie Joseph Slyman, brothers, David Jr., George and Edmond Slyman, great uncle and aunt, Deeb and Badoun Slyman.

He will be remembered as everybody's "Uncle Fo".
