Eliza Harjo Berryhill was born to Melissa Canard and Edmond Harjo on August 10, 1931 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She married Raymond Berryhill in Okemah, Oklahoma and had eleven children. Eliza passed from this earth to be with our heavenly Father on Monday, September 20, 2021 at her home in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Eliza enjoyed fishing, beading, crocheting, spending time with family, attending church, and speaking the Muscogee language—her first language. She was a proud citizen of the Muscogee Nation and her Seminole ancestry as well. Eliza worked for many years as a care giver before retiring and living her last years in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Eliza is preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Berryhill; children: Leonard Berryhill, Rosie Tyler, Lyle (Bruce) Berryhill, Raymond Berryhill, Jr.; grandchildren: William (Bo) Berryhill, Summer Berryhill, Lindell Berryhill, Jr.; One great grandchild; two sisters and one brother; and companion Lloyd Roper.

Eliza leaves behind several children: Carol Pendergrass and husband Jackie of Beggs, Lindell Berryhill of Bristow, Janice Bryan and husband Tom of Bristow, Freda McGinley of Stillwater, Tommy Berryhill of Terra Haute, Indiana, Donald Berryhill and wife Rae of Broken Arrow, Dianne Waldon and wife Belinda of Beggs, 33 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Eliza Berryhill are scheduled for 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Home in Bristow, masks required.
