Edith June
Lockhart
Apr 22, 1931 — Aug 7, 2026
Edith June Lockhart, 95, was born on April 22, 1931, to Roy and Nancy Britton in Yale, Oklahoma. She departed this life on August 7, 2026 in Bristow, Oklahoma.
Edith graduated from high school in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and later attended Blythe Junior College. On March 18, 1977, she was united in marriage to George Lockhart, and together they shared 28 wonderful years before his passing on June 20, 2005.
A woman of quiet joy and simple pleasures, Edith loved reading, working jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her family. Yet above all, the most significant part of her life was her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She became a Christian at the age of 18 and remained steadfast in her faith for the rest of her days. Edith was intentional in raising her children in church and dedicated herself to sharing the gospel. Her walk with Christ shaped every part of her life, and her example continues to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Edith is survived by her five children: Dorothy Dinkel, Norma Collums, Jerry Bartlett, Audrey Doris, and Linda Edlin; numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren; and two great‑great‑grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one son, Doug Bartlett; one stepson, Ricky Bartlett; and six siblings: Howard Britton, Roy Lee Britton, Earl Britton, Jim Britton, Rosalie Bunce, and Dorothy Kennan.
Edith's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. Her family rejoices in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and resting in the eternal presence of her Savior.
