Doris Maxine Wilkerson of Stillwater went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, August 14th 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old.

Doris was born on May 7th, 1930. She was the daughter of William Howard and Joy Eleonora (Bailey) Millage. She grew up in Blackwell and attended school there.

On August 18, 1948, she married William (Bill) Wilkerson. The two of them met on a blind date and were married shortly after. They were married for 71 wonderful years. They spent their time in California and in Oklahoma. They had 8 children, 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Doris loved children. She spent a lot of her time reading. She could finish a book a day. She loved all of her family dearly and pepsi almost as much. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the Church of God. She was a wonderful person and will be sorely missed.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Sarah Wilkerson of the home and Sarah's four children; Doris's children, Joyce Ross and husband, Mike, of Ponca City, Shirley Studebaker and husband, John, of Drumright, Sheryl Vaughan and husband, Buddy, of Cushing, Mary Ramsey of Ripley, Rick Wilkerson and wife, Tami, of Irvine, Kentucky, Larry Wilkerson and wife, Kelly, of Stillwater and son-in-law, Gaylord Ross of Ponca City; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; twenty-four great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, one son, Bill Wilkerson, Jr., one daughter, Maxine Ross, one son-in-law, Bill Ramsey, one granddaughter and three grandsons.

Her funeral will be Augst 24th, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ripley Church of God with her son, Rick officiating. Following her burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, there will be an ice cream social in the dining hall because like Doris always said "There is always room for ice cream".
