Dora May Scott, Yale resident, passed away in Stillwater on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the age of 84 years. The daughter of the late Willie Oscar Hopkins and Mayme Elizabeth (Cooper) Hopkins, Dora was born on June 4, 1921 in Schlegel, OK and was reared and educated in the Schlegel and Yale communities. She was united in marriage to Oscar L. Scott on June 4, 1940 at Schlegel and to this union, four children were born: Charles, Barbara, Richard and William. Mr. Scott and son Charles preceded her in death. Dora was a member of the Baptist Church, a member of the Home Demonstration Club and had worked on the election board for over 35 years. After her children were raised and gone from home, she worked in the home health care industry and for Swan Rubber Company, Munsingwear Sewing Factory, and Davis Yale Chapel. She had also been very involved in genealogy since 1977. Survivors include her children, Richard Lee Scott of Maramec, William "Bill" Scott of Stillwater, and Barbara Ann Shepherd of Edmond, OK; two brothers, Floyd Hopkins of Yale and Ernest Hopkins of Cushing; one sister, Floria Todd of Yale; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Hopkins and Harold Lloyd Hopkins, and three sisters, Bula Pearl Hopkins, Ruby Hamby and Lucy Smith and twin grandsons. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 3 P.M. in the Davis Yale Chapel in Yale with Brother Michael Dershem officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, southeast of Yale. visitation: Saturday: 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. Sunday: 9 A.M. until Service time
