Dora Faye Sawyer was born February 24, 1940, to William Newton and Jessie McCollum in Bristow, Oklahoma.  She departed this life June 23, 2022, at the age of 82.

She graduated from Bristow High School.  On August 22, 1959, Dora McCollum and Forrest Glenn Sawyer were united in marriage.  From this union was born one daughter, Dana.  They enjoyed 47 years together before his passing March 20, 2007.

Dora was a member of the order of Eastern Star.  She was a cook for several local convenient stores including, 7-Eleven, Zigeez, and Coop's.  She enjoyed cooking, fishing, puzzles, watching sporting events on television as well as her grandkids.  She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Few, and husband Buck; four sisters, Donna Raney, Glenda Haulcomb and husband Lonnie, Debbie McCollum, Phyllis Cheatwood; grandchildren, Deidrah Jamison, Deon Jamison and wife Kailey, David Few, Savana Few, Chandlor Moctezuma, Kyndal Moctezuma; great grandchildren, Darien Dansby, Javien Dansby, Skylar Jamison, Sekaia Jamison, Braydon Brown, Cohen Moctezuma, Maria Root, Sampson Root, Mavis Root.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Marie Denham, and four brothers, J.V. McCollum, William Boyd McCollum, Edward McCollum, and Roy Eugene McCollum.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Trinity Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
