Donald Wayne
Thompson
Jun 10, 1939 — Oct 14, 2023
Don Wayne Thompson lived, laughed, & loved. While living in Cushing Ok. near his brother Allen and wife Karen he went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 14, 2023, he was 84 years old.
On June 10th 1939, Don was born in Visalia, California to Earl and Ernestine Thompson. Don attended North High where he was one of the first 4 year graduates. When Don was 14 years old he started his first job at a restaurant. From there with his persevering spirit, he was the youngest person to stand in the picket line to receive a higher wage. He was a successful "Branded" Gas Station owner for over 30 years. Don came out of retirement 3 different times to help his friends. Starting in San Diego, managing a marina directing yachts all day, it must have been rough, ha! Another time was to work for a friend at his gas station, & lastly standing in for a friend running his catering truck in the oil fields, which turned out to be great fun for Don he loved the guys and cooking special meals on request.
Don was an avid golfer, hunter, skier, and traveler but above all for him it was to go fishing in the lakes of Northern California. To date Don is best know for being the best and most fantastic grandfather loving his grand children to pieces.
Don is survived by his son Matt, his wife Leslie and their kids Adrienne and David. Son Mark, his wife Connie, and their kids Brennan, Alexander, and Nick. Sister Betty, husband Kenneth, brothers, Chuck, wife Vivian, Allen, wife Karen. Don had many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all, you will always be in our hearts and prayers…
