Don Lewis Alexander was born August 29, 1956 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Savoy Alexander Jr. and Maybelle Sellers.

Leaving Oklahoma, Don's early years were spent growing up in Oakland, CA. Here he attended Lockwood Elementary School and Haven Court High School. He attended the Ephesian Church of God in Christ and was part of the Young Elders of Tomorrow. He transferred to Stockton, CA where he attended Edison High School. It was in Stockton where he met and married Joyce Wofford. To this union a son, Don Alexander Jr., was born. As life changes, Don later met and married Deborah Stein. He took on the father roll of her three sons, one of whom preceded him in death. From Stockton Don and Debbie relocated to Bristow, Oklahoma where he connected with his paternal family, especially his Uncle Odell. Don worked various jobs from Qwick Set to the County Sanitation Department. On November 18, 2012, Don accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and united with the New Life International Center under the leadership of Pastor Eric D. Parker. He had a special spiritual connection to Pastor Parker and often looked to him for spiritual guidance and prayer. Don moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he worked as an Environmental Service Worker until his retirement. Even while in Nebraska, Don maintained his connection to his church by calling Pastor Parker who would pray with him by phone. To those who knew him best Don was a loving, kind-hearted person who made friends easily. Every place he went he made friends, including when he was in Nebraska. One special friend was Kim, who remained close to him during his illness. With Kim by his bedside, Don heard the call of the Lord and departed this life September 9, 2021.

Don is preceded in death by his wife Debbie, two brothers Marvin McGee and Savoy Alexander, III, and his stepson Jermaine Jackson. Don leaves to cherish his memory his father Savoy Alexander, Jr. (Alice), Depew, OK, and mother Maybelle Sellers Buyard, Sacramento, CA. Son, Don Lewis Alexander, Jr., San Diego, CA. Four sisters Shelia Jones, LaVerne Curtis(Tony), Sarah Pratcher (Steven) all from Sacramento, CA, and Kendra Alexandra, Bristow, OK. His brother John Alexander, Bristow, OK. His aunts Yvette Reed and DeLois Johnson, Stockton, CA, and Margaret Ellis, Sacramento, CA. Uncles Ted Alexander, Odell Alexander, Clydell Alexander all from Bristow, OK, and Vernon Glen Alexander, Oklahoma City, OK. Stepsons Deonne Jackson, Bristow, OK, and Brandon Jackson Stockton, CA, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. We all loved him, but God loved him more.
