Obituary

Darryl Wayne Plum was born on April 10, 1963, to Wayne and Florene Plum in Bristow, Oklahoma. He left this world on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the age of 62, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so deeply.

Darryl grew up in Bristow, where he spent his school years playing football and baseball and proudly wearing the colors of the Purple Pirates. He had a playful spirit even then, a quick smile, and a natural charm that never left him. In 1985, he married Terri Butterfield, and together they welcomed Sheri and Tyler. Later, in 1993, he married Pam Miller, and their son Derek completed his family. His children were the pride of his life.

A hard worker by nature, Darryl spent years as a steelworker, a heavy equipment operator, and in the oilfields—a time he loved to look back on and retell with that unforgettable grin. He was happiest outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, gardening, or just soaking in the quiet of a good Oklahoma day. But nothing ever mattered to him as much as his people. Time with family was the heart of his world.

Darryl is survived by his children—Tyler Plum; Sheri Montgomery; and Derek Plum—and by the partners he welcomed into the family: Megan Cowart, Jaden Shields, and Rhiannon Coats. He leaves behind siblings who loved him deeply: Warren Plum and wife Sandy, Brian Plum and wife Tina, and Rhonda Smith and husband Scott; along with his sister-in-law, Melissa Plum. His grandchildren—Cash and Case Montgomery, Rylee Perkins, and Jayse Plum—lit up his days and made him so proud. He also leaves a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who all held a special place in his heart.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Plum and one brother, Justin Plum.

Darryl was one of those rare people who would drop anything to help someone in need. His mind was sharp, his humor was effortless, and his smile was the kind you don't forget. To many, he was "Hollywood"—a nickname that fit him perfectly. To those who knew him best, he was simply unforgettable.

He was truly one of a kind. We will miss him more than words can ever say, but we are grateful for the laughter, the stories, and the love he gave us. He was a beautiful soul, inside and out, and he left the world better just by being in it
