Dale Wayne
Bolden
Mar 31, 1949 — Sep 24, 2021
Bristow
Dale Wayne Bolden was born March 31, 1949 to Clarence and Flora Bolden in Liberal Kansas. He departed this life September 24, 2021 at the age of 72 years.
Dale was a graduate of Western High in Las Vegas, Nevada. Promptly moving to Oklahoma, he studied business at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah but traveled back to each school reunion. Going into the Army in 1972, Dale served his country faithfully and upon release from active duty, made Oklahoma his home. Dale worked as an assistant manager for GCR in Tulsa; a company owned by Bridgestone (Firestone) Tire Company. He retired April 1, 2011 after 16 years and 9 months of service.
Dale and Lindalyn met the 4th of July weekend when she tried to borrow or rent his tractor and brush hog. Dale of course answered no but said he'd try to help any way he could. The following Saturday, he came down and brush hogged, the two went to dinner and the rest is history. They were married November 27, 1998, just so happens that was the day after Thanksgiving and every year, no matter what day their anniversary fell on, they celebrated on the day after Thanksgiving. Dale was an avid fisherman, he and Lindalyn spent many hours fishing in bass tournaments. He loved to travel, so much so that he and Lindalyn visited every state west of the Mississippi, except Washington, with their Airstream travel trailer. He was a member of the ELKS, B.A.S.S. bass club and American Bass Anglers. He loved woodwork and was known as a shade tree mechanic. Dale served his Lord faithfully as a member of First Baptist Church in Bristow where he loved to work in the kitchen.
Dale is survived by his wife, of 22 years, Lindalyn; one son, Kelly Bolden of Tulsa; one daughter, Kristin Gregory and husband Josh of Broken Arrow; two stepchildren, whom he always thought were his own, Twila Heine and husband George of Dayton, Ohio, and Charles Smith and wife Kelli of Edmond; one brother, Ed Bolden and wife Laurie of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Addison Smith, Ethan Smith and Braxton Gregory and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Hetzer.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Bristow with Pastor DJ Carney officiating. Entombment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens. Following entombment, there will be a Celebration Of Life at the First Baptist Church gym.
