Carolyn Gail Black was born June 10, 1948 to Hartsel and Melzine Coker in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. She departed this life March 9, 2026 at the age of 77 years.
Carolyn left home about the age of fourteen; married at a young age, building her life as a wife and mother. She worked many jobs throughout her life providing for her family as she raised her four children. She had a profound love for Horses and trail riding. She traveled extensively with Bad Girls trail riding club where they were featured in hometown parades and was a member of Oklahoma Equestrian Trail Riders Association. Her favorite place to ride was at Robbers Cave State Park and also frequented the trails at Cedar Lake. Carolyn often made t-Shirts and picture frames.
Carolyn is survived by her four daughters, LindaMarie Hastings of Hackett, Arkansas; Lori Davis and Patricia Smith of McAlester, Oklahoma and Tammy Bishop of Welty, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dale Coker of Clayton and John Coker and wife Valinda of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters in law, Kim Coker and Trish Coker; eleven grandchildren, Michael Ballard, Bradley Watkins, Torrie Jean Sparks, Kenzie Davis, Chris Bishop, Katie Mason, Mikayla Bahnmaier Joe Bahnmaier Shanna Nooner, Ethan Smith and Seth Bolte; as well as, numerous great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Black; two sisters, Marilyn Benson and Linda Norbury; one brother, Leon Coker and granddaughter, RiaDawn Ballard
